• andrew.leonard.smith@googlemail.com As a member of the lido history society i am absolutely pleased that this much loved historic lido is being restored to its former glory and splendor. what is even better is that the restored uxbridge lido will be in the hands of fusion ( as will indeed the new complex as a whole.)As many of us will know; fusion also manage the world famous brockwell lido and with this in mind i hope that uxbridge lido becomes equally famous and is afforded the same attention as its famous counterpart in the south of london. with several important features that are grade2 listed in addition to the pool itself including the 2 aereator fountains my greatest wish is to see them restored to full working order and for them to be floodlit as was the tradition at some lidos in days gone by. also it is my ambition to be the first to swim here when it re opens which must be a cause for real celebration. and i hear this could be in june 2009!
