• andrew.leonard.smith@googlemail.com Although charlton lido is safe at the present time those responsible for the upkeep of this unique lido in particular greenwich leisure ltd should get their act together to prevent these embarassing closures. in some respects charlton lido despite being of later vintage than the world famous brockwell lido is more historic in particular the unique pair of wall mounted aereators (known affectionately as the charlton cascades)are believed to be the only known examples of this type of aereator that survives in working order and because they so rare and valuable why have these unique features not been grade2 listed by english heritage? These unique aereators and better still charlton lido as a whole should be grade2 listed without delay.
