It's great to see Hillingdon are going public on their website about their aspiration to secure a 50-metre pool.

Hillingdon are keen to see a 50-metre pool on the site for Ruislip-Northwood Swim Squad and other local swimmers.

There is a Petition being created to ensure that funding is found for a 50-metre pool that you can sign HERE.

"Hillingdon Council's plans for Uxbridge Lido, a multi-million pound swimming and leisure complex with the potential for an Olympic training pool, move into their final phase this month.

The extent of the development now rests on the success of the council's bids for top up funding made to both Sport England and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Hillingdon has earmarked £20m from its own resources for a 25-metre indoor pool, sports hall and fitness centre. The complex will be built next to the 1930's Uxbridge open air pool, a grade 11 listed building which will be refurbished. But the council requires additional funding of around £7m in order to provide a 50-metre Olympic size indoor pool and to help return the open air pool to its former glory."
