"People fighting to save a South West swimming pool from closure have lost their battle. Campaigners mounted a last-ditch bid to save Seaton Barracks pool in Plymouth on Tuesday, but city councillors voted to close it next Spring.

They say a lease on the land, owned by the Regional Development Agency, has run out and the pool is expensive to run and is losing £160,000 a year.

About 100,000 people use the swimming pool each year."
