We have run postings about how statistics show children are not being taught to swim, how difficult it is for children to go to a modern pool and swim, and how adults are taking all the pooltime at times that would be useful to young people by stealth or by 'right'; then we find this example of the attitude that may have created this situation.

"SWIMMERS in Ribble Valley are being advised that Ribblesdale Pool in Edisford Road, Clitheroe, closes on Sunday for 10 weeks.

The pool will re-open on Saturday, March 1st, following an overhaul of its heating system and wiring.
